On the way to Scottsdale we drove through some great desert landscape. Amazing vast stretches of rock piles and sand. Very beautiful.
The venue was a nice rock club (is ‘nice’ really a good word to describe a rock club?).
When I got on stage to set up my pedal board there was a set list taped to the wall which started with ‘Enter Sandman’ and finished with ‘Crazy Train’. For a moment I was tempted to substitute that set for ours – just for a little bit of a change.
Great audience, great gig. This gig sticks out as one where we all played really well.
All around the dressing room, fixed to the walls, were signed guitars. After the gig I went round them all and tuned them all to different open chords. I then proceeded to dash round them, strumming each one in an attempt to make the entire room resonate with a beautiful harmony… it kinda worked!
